Basket Weaving

Rewild portland Ivy basket weaving

Harvest, prepare, and weave your own English Ivy Twined Basket.

Join Rewild Portland who specializes in teaching ancestral skills, arts, foods and traditions for a day of basket making.

Learn how to pull and process ivy near the World Forestry Center and then how to weave it into a twined basket.  At the end of the class take home a basket great for gathering berries or mounting to the front of a bicycle.

Timeline

Friday August 26th - 9am to 4pm

9am Walk to a nearby location to learn about English Ivy impact on forest habitat

10-12pm Ivy Pull and processing

12pm Lunch break

1-2pm Basket weaving techniques

2-4pm Weaving

This is a 12 person class, so tickets are limited.
