JuniperRidge

Hike, Harvest, and make wilderness perfume with Juniper Ridge

Nothing smells better than the forest and the only way to bring this beauty home is to strap on your boots and go there. Juniper Ridge makes Wilderness Perfume by distilling and extracting fragrance from wildflowers, plants, bark, moss, mushrooms, and tree trimmings that they harvest on the trail. All of their products are named from the wild places they come from. Join Juniper Ridge on a hike and put the place into a bottle to take home.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Harvesting: Unlike synthetic fragrances, these wilderness perfumes are extracted from real, native-plant sources. You'll learn sustainable fragrance extraction techniques that don't damage native plant habitat.

Formulation: Juniper Ridge uses old perfume making techniques including distillation, tincturing, infusion and enfleurage. A hundred years ago, all perfumes were made this way. Today they’re the only ones who handle every step of the process themselves, from beginning to end. The exact formula depends on what you find in the wind, a conversation with the living, wild ecology.

SUPPLIES

Tools, gloves, clippers, diggers, drinks, lunch, notebooks, pens, and good vibes are included in ticket price. You'll need to bring hiking boots, clothes to get dirty in, and a hungry mind.

The Lab

The Juniper Ridge van, or “Field Lab,” is their mobile distillation unit loaded with all the stuff you need for putting a place’s smell into a bottle.
